Match or better quote???

I recently bought a brand new car. I got a quote from Budget (R1 600) and SAU (Santam) R712.00). I called Outsurance and was quoted at first R4 000 (by call centre agent Byron in Centurion. I was then contacted by Zweli (Centurion) who then quoted me R1 450. Now I was shocked when I was quoted R4 000 since I was living abroad. Zweli called back after 2 hours to offer me R1 450. I had emailed the quotes to him and he agreed that they could not match Santam. In the same breathe it is bad company ethics to slate the competition which Zweli did. I work for The Star newspaper and we are taught to mention our companies strengths not our oppositions weaknesses. I enquired about the R400 pay out if they could not match or beat the competitions quote. I have not heard anything since then. 1 Week later and still nothing. Disappointed and will certainly never recommend them to anyone. Before I left South Africa I used to believe in Outsurance and I had my car insured with them 25 years. Absolutely no faith in ***** and people that slate the competition!!!
