Let down my OUTsurance

When I was sold a contract with them for House contents I was also told that I could also claim for spoiled food when I experience outages. So this past weekend we had no electricity so the food is spoiled and I submitted a claim this morning and I was called by one of their consultant to inform me that I don’t qualify for that claim cause I only been with them for 8 months instead of a year, which to my surprise cause it was never communicated to me when I joined.
