Lack of taking responsibility

I’m done waiting. OUTsurance has failed—spectacularly—on two fronts: payment and site repairs. And I’m not interested in another round of excuses. Let’s start with the money. It’s been 15 days since proof of payment was supp****, and 10 days since OUTsurance promised the funds would reflect in our Capitec account within three days. Still nothing. Why? Because they paid into an account that doesn’t even exist under the policy number. That’s not a clerical error—it’s gross negligence. And no one’s bothered to fix it. When we’re late with payments, we get penalized. OUTsurance, on the other hand, seems to think it’s above accountability. I’m calling that out. Fix the payment. Now. Then there’s the disaster unfolding on-site. Kumar and his crew have turned a simple water leak into a circus. Five failed attempts. Five. And still no resolution. I lost it this morning—not because of the leak, but because of the sloppy, careless attitude and the zero pride in workmanship. Apologies mean nothing when the job keeps getting botched. The fence? A joke. We were told they’d be back on the 20th to fix it. Instead, we got a smug comment: “Sir, we thought you would love the rustic look.” That’s not rustic—it’s lazy and unprofessional. The fence has already cost twice what it should, thanks to extra contractors needed just to straighten the wood. I showed them exactly how to do it. They ignored it. Apparently, doing the job properly is too much hard labour. Same story with the plumbing. They claimed to be qualified. Today, they brought in a specialist—proof they ****. These systems don’t tolerate interference. One careless move, and you’ve got leaks everywhere. That’s exactly what’s happened. And then the cherry on top: I get a WhatsApp saying they’re coming to inspect the leak. No greeting. No heads-up. They just walked onto my property and started flushing the system. That’s a security breach and a waste of water. I had already provided a loop line and showed them how to test it properly. They ignored that too. Let’s be clear: the day I stopped them from continuing with the fence was the last day they showed up. Now they want to shift blame onto me? Not a chance. I won’t carry the cost of their incompetence. Here’s what needs to happen: • Sort the payment immediately. • Take responsibility. No more delays. No more lies. No more games.

. Concerns Regarding Contractor Repairs

Issues with Fence Repairs
I have been informed by the Outsurance representative that I would receive further feedback only once the director returns from sick leave. However, waiting an additional six to seven weeks for a resolution is simply not feasible, given the pressing security and maintenance issues at hand. The contractor, Kumar Enterprises from Margate, KZN, who was selected to perform the repairs, left the site with my front fence secured only by wire, tying it to the upright wooden poles. This temporary measure raises serious concerns about the integrity of the repair. If the wire holding the structure together is cut, the fence would collapse, allowing easy access to my property and creating a significant security risk.

Ongoing Water System Leak Despite multiple attempts by the contractor to fix the water system, the leak persists. On the day of inspection, there was no visible leak, but as I explained to Kumar Enterprises, disturbing the pipework without using the highest quality PVC and proper galvanizing tends to result in recurring leaks throughout the system.

Contractor Availability and Responsibility I have also been informed that the director of Kumar Enterprises is currently ill and will not be able to take on any further work for the next two months. This raises the question of who will be responsible for addressing the repairs that remain incomplete or have not been adequately fixed.

Warranty and Quality Concerns Although I was promised a one-year warranty on the repairs, the issues with both the fence and water system have left me concerned about the overall quality and reliability of the work provided. In light of these ongoing problems, I am formally request on August 25 ‘2025, in writing, that the following information be provided for Claim ***:
1. Inspection Details - The exact date and time of all relevant inspections conducted on the property. - The full name of each inspector responsible for assessing the repairs. - A clear description of the scope of each inspection undertaken. - A concise summary of the findings reported, particularly regarding the water system and fence repairs.
2. Cost Breakdown - The total cost incurred by OUTsurance to date for all repairs and associated services. - Specific details of any claims, payouts, or service charges linked to this case which remain outstanding or unresolved. Lack of Communication All relevant parties are included in a dedicated WhatsApp group, where these concerns have been raised. Yet, nearly 10 hours have passed since my latest message, and no one has bothered to respond, further highlighting the lack of urgency and accountability in resolving these matters.

Incident Report Regarding Site Visit and Related Concerns

Background Although she has my business email address, she chose to support the contractor without considering that there initial request was solely for a site visit, not for any repairs. This decision overlooked the clear distinction between the two requests. Concerns About Communication and Conduct Additionally, I observed a lack of dignity in her approach. During this time, Kumar was insistent on gaining entry to the property, disregarding the fact that it was 2:00 AM in my local time zone.
Complicating matters further, my sister-in-law, who suffers from severe epileptic attacks, was in the midst of having a fit.
Appointment Timing and Coordination Issues An appointment had already been scheduled for 8:30 AM RSA time, which is 1:30 AM CDT in the United States. It became apparent that Ian was delayed due to a major traffic problem outside of his control. Despite this, I received no notification of the delay until I made it clear that no one would be allowed entry without Ian’s presence.
Property Ownership and Treatment Concerns This situation raises an important question: whose property is this - Ian’s or mine? I am troubled by the fact that I was threatened or treated disrespectfully simply because I denied entry. Kumar’s actions had a direct impact on my sister’s health, as her medical condition was exacerbated and she felt unsafe.
Decision to Pursue Legal Action As a result of these events, I now feel compelled to take legal action. Please note, I would not have taken this step without documented evidence, all of which is on file with me.
