It shouldn't be this difficult

Following a car accident, I am in the process of resolving a claim with Outsurance.

The gist of the matter is their estimates do not align with quotes I have obtained from the market - their's is half that of the other three quotes (one of which is from their own service provider).

Most concerning is all their estimates allow for used/grey parts.

Estimates have slowly crept up as they request more and more information. Photos have been sent, part prices confirmed, etc, etc. Only to be followed by further requests or commitments to call back (which are never returned).

We are now on the third estimate and as of this morning, I have received a further request for information.

Notable excuses to date: Their service provider's quote does not allow for the discount offered to Outsurance (which in effect forces me to use their service provider and not my own, as their price will always be cheaper). The vehicle manufacturer's quote for parts cannot be accepted - where else are they going to get the parts?

I can only conclude that Outsurance does not want to honor the claim and/or is looking for the lowest price to settle on. Outsurance estimators are incentivized to undervalue repairs passing the costs on to their service providers and/or clients.

I hope I am wrong.
