Insurance Confusion

On 22 June 2016 I received my policy schedule renewal notice indicating the increases in insurance values and premiums on my building & contents insurance.

On 24 June 2016 I rang Outsurance and was out through to the re-rate department. After a discussion with a cosultant I requested that my contents insurance value insured not be increased and be left at the previous years value. I was happy with the new insured value of the property.

On 01 July 2016 I received a new schedule with a slightly reduced premium but noticed that the contents value had not been left at the previous years value.

On 04 July 2016 I rang Outsurance again to query the contents value and have it reduced to the previous years insurance value.

On 04 July 2016 I received a new revised shedule where the contents insurance was now correct and left at the previous years value but I noticed that the premium had increased R23 and now i was insured for less.

On 04 July 2016 I rang Outsurance again and spoke to another consultant in the Re-rate department who said he would try and sort it out.

On 05 July 2016 I received a phone call from the previous consultant informing me that he had raised the issue and they were going to review the recordings.

On 14 July I rang Outsurance again and spoke to another consultant who tried to explain why the premium increased and he then verbally quoted me a premium even higher. He then left me on hold to try and sort it out but then came back on the phone and asked if he could phone me back within a hour.

Needless to say its 5 hours later and no call.

I am now reluctant to phone Outsurance again as every time I ring the premium seems to go up.

At the present time I am unclear what my insurance cover actually is and what premium will be deducted from my bank account.

Tomorrow I will be checking out the market for Buildings and contents insurance!
