Incorrect information and Ridiculous Excess
I put in my first claim at Outsurance since joining them in 2011. I found out when contacting them that despite paying a premium of over R500/month, my excess was R4100. This is for a small vehicle and after I enquired about it, they reviewed my profile and the price has dropped down to R345/month. The consultant told me that if the excess comes down then the premium goes up and vice versa. My premium has been going up every year and so has the excess. No other insurance company has an excess over R4000 for a small car. My repair quote is approximately R9700 and my excess is about 40% of that. What are we paying for. Outsurance is just out to take peoples money and then make you pay for claiming. Why have insurance when this happens. This is ****************. I am very displeased with the service and pricing and will not recommend Outsurance to anyone. I will be switching to another insurance company.
Hello MicahelTS
Thank you for your comments and allowing us the opportunity to discuss your concerns.
A standard excess will always apply on any claim submitted. The excess amounts on vehicles are not influenced by the size of the vehicle.
We have since contacted you and discussed the way forward. Arrangements have also been made for us to contact you to reduce your excess, which will have an effect on your premium.
