i have no choice
My car was in an accident and i logged a claim against my insurance to have the car repaired, it is a 2004 Toyota Corolla, 180i GSX, The quotation given by Outsurance's assessor to repair the vehicle was R28662, The vehicle was insured for R51600 and the Retail value of the car is R56600. The outcome from the assessor's report is that it is uneconomical to repair the vehicle, hence the vehicle was written off.

i was contacted by the claims manager Sipiwe Khazwayo who told me that they will be prepared to pay me R14810 to have the care repaired at my own panelbeater because the repair value should not be more than 35% of the insured value which in this case it is. I asked if i had an option to pay the salvage cost and take back the vehicle and i was told I HAVE NO OPTIONS,
I have been a loyal client of Outsurance for the past 12 years and i am totally unhappy with the response i got from the manager. It is my vehicle, i pay the premiums on the policy and yet i have no options to decide on what i want to do with the car, Furthermore if the insurance company only allows 35% of the insured value for repairs then why have i been paying premiums on the insured value of R51600
