I had a business vehicle financed by wesbank and insured by Outsurance and a short fall cover with Bidvest insurance for over two years.
The vehicle was involved in a car accident and written off and it was not our fault. We made a claim at OUTsurance witch was approved and they told me that they will pay the current market value of the vehicle. The shortfall cover ( Bidvest) was suppose to pay the difference but they didn't. Wesbank called me to tell me that I have an outstanding of R23000 that I must pay because Bidvest did not pay the full outstanding amount because OUTsurance did not pay the market value of the vehicle . As a black women own business I can not pay for a vehicle that is written off while I had two insurance to cover me should something of this nature should occur. I have attached the settlement letter from Wesbank and from OUTsurance.
Hello Phiwe2605
Your feedback was most alarming and immediately referred to our claims manager, Siyabonga.
He contacted you with detailed feedback after having investigated the matter.
The following was confirmed: we settled the claim at retail value, and you did not have credit shortfall cover with us, but with Bidvest.
Thank you for your understanding.

Dinky
