Horrible victimizing experience from Outsurance

To whom it may concern

An assessor by the name of Juan-Mari Erasmus ( ********** 865) came around to my home to do a risk assessment, her email address ********** She said she was doing a risk assessment but it was more of an interrogation than a risk assessment. What gives her the right to behave the way she did. This goes only to show that Outsurance takes the clients premium, never review the client to check if assets have changed and at claim stage victimise the clients. This is truly unfair treatment.

There were four items that I claimed for that I could not provide receipts for. – the question is : Can Outsurance prove that I did have these items.???

I told the assessor I bought items on gumtree & she then asked questions like "What did you type into Gumtree to find it? Under where did you find the advert? Where did you meet? what did the guy look like? How old was he?"

I wrote a “Letter of Admission” under duress as these items are not that expensive and to speed up the process as all our possession are ******.

Juan-Mari Erasmus was horrible to us and said that if things continue and she finds that we never bought the items or don’t have proof of the items, we will be called in for a second interview at their offices and she said “Our offices aren’t a nice place, they make you feel like you are a ********.” She mentioned that at the second interview if they feel we are lying, they have the right to call in the police and also notify our places of work. She has coerced me into writing the letter and signing it, saying, if I write and sign the letter of admission, everything would stop with her. Well you can see, it did not stop with her. She would need to go back to her manager and they would drop us as a client and we would need to look for other insurance but would need to disclose why Outsurance has dropped us. After I had written the letter of admission she then came out to say we would not be paid for anything, although we have proof of every item which was ******.

This is the way Outsurance bully their clients and get out without paying their clients.

The constable also saw that there was forced entry into our home and he has all serial numbers for the case.

Shortly after this ordeal we got an email to say the claim has been repudiated and the reason for that is ***** (although there is no proof) there will always be a mark of ***** on our name at Outsurance. We received an email and an sms from Outsurance saying that they have already cancelled our cover with them & they confirmed the pro rata premium will be paid back on the 8th September.

At no point did Outsurance send out a representative around to verify the inventory in our home since we initiated the policy.

At no point did they send out a representative to review and update/advise on our policy as I am paying ongoing commission with every premium.

You will pay back the commission plus the interest from the inception of the policy as there was not annual reviews done.

This has been a very traumatic experience for my family and I only to find that the people you put your trust in (Outsurance) to take care of your belongings are never there when you need them. I'd also like to add that when we requested voice recordings from Ferdi (Juan-Marie's manager) he said he doesn't need to provide it to us. Then after giving him valid reasons as to why he needed to give it to us, he said he would do so. He however doesn't know how long it will take to comply to this. Also, I know all the calls made to Juan-Marie are recorded and would like all of them to be sent to us (Including the ones made after hours) as well as her story of events had also changed, even during the call made to her yesterday.
