Horrible service from Outsurance

The worst experience ever with insurance, surpasses any other insurance I have ever had. I am insured with Outsurance after I heard their adverts and promises they make to be the best. I called them, I must say the service of the agents was tops but the proof of the pudding is the eating. I had an accident where I drove over a piece of iron rod that fell from a truck damaging my diff, exel, petrol tank, protector plate and gearbox. Submission of a claim was also tops, but what followed horrified me. Initially I had opted for a rental car similar or equivalent to my vehicle of which the agent said absolutely. When I get the notification for the rental car it was a little group A automatic, my car is a E class Mercedes. I protested and eventually all was corrected, the. I got a call from Outsurance my details were incorrect, I had to go through this process 3 or 4 times including my installment went up, eventually they corrected them and game a discount and I ended up saving R200 which I was grateful. My car went in to Precision & Son in Centurion, they told me it will be ready by 29 August 2025. After assessment they found out that the car needs replacement of all the damaged parts, they took the car to Mercedes for assessment and they got a quotation for diff and gearbox, Outsurance refused them to replace with OEM, mind when I took the insurance, the agent told me unlike other Insurance companies, Outsurance uses original parts in case of an accident. Presision & son were told to take the car to Mayfair in Jhb to get second hand or reconditioned gearbox. This resulted in a week delay, I got a message from Outsurance that they are canceling my car rental, end of August despite that the car will only be ready on the 5th of Sept exact the week that resulted in Outsurance refusal to use OEMs. I called them and objected last week 22 Aug, they promised to sort out and call me back, nothing no call or anything. I called them again on the 26 Aug, they promised to call on 27, nothing. I called again on the 27, a manager Lynette, according to Sibongile was meant to call me. Mahommed who was the claim supervisor the last I spoke to him was 3weeks back, he never responds. I am faced with a challenge of not having a car from Monday and I have to go to Jhb. This has been my worst experience ever. I am looking for a new insurance if this is the service one gets from Outsurance. The incompetency is out of this world or maybe overpromising to get the deal thereafter it is customer's problem. I am disappointed, I was impressed when I was taking the policy on how it went but I gues it was screens aver!

Good day Bongani,

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to look into the concerns you raised.

Our claims manager, Lynnette, contacted you to apologise for your experience and she provided you with recourse. We can confirm that OEM parts were approved and the car hire was extended. We have addressed the lapse in service accordingly.

Thank you for accepting our apologies.

Regards,
The OUTsurance Team
