Having to pay R5000.00 excess

My DSTV went down via power surge for 3 days, my claim was completed in 2 days and now I have to pay an access of R5000.00.

Attention Calvin thanks for your Call you obvious are unware I have just received another call from your claims department telling me my excess is R5000 as from the 31st January the policy is endorsed after 15 years service this is the thanks I get and all your caller did was annoyed my husband who has had 3 strokes. Surely we should get a months notice not 1 days notice, also our policies are up for renewal as from the 1st March. As we are both pensioners the news is shocking and we intend looking at other insurance companies with immediate effect.

Hi Dawn,
Unfortunately due to the frequency of claims there will be an excess of R5000 only on power surge and lightning claims. The rest of the perils will still remain on R0 excess. Sorry for the negative feedback.
