Have Not Started Repairing Our Car, Two Months Later
Our car was involved in a head-on collision on the 18th of October 2018, of which we submitted a claim thereof on the same day with Outsurance. Due to the extent of the damage on the car, our assumption was that it would be written-off but we were surprised when Outsurance told us that they will be repairing it. As advised by Outsurance, we afforded them the time to work on the car but to our shock, to this day the panelbeating on the car has not commenced yet. According to Outsurance, they are still waiting for the parts, and according to their process, the panelbeater should have provided them with a Back Order Letter already, that proves that parts have been ordered, and most importantly that states the expected delivery date for the parts; this letter hasn’t been provided to Outsurance yet, in fact, the panelbeater only asked the parts supplier to provide one this week.
Another questionable part is: who is the parts supplier since Mazda has an Assembly Plant at Silverton, Gauteng, and it takes over two months for parts to arrive to a panelbeater that is based within the same province?
So, from where I am standing: we have been waiting for the car to be repaired for over two months already, when Outsurance, and its panelbeater agreed to wait for the parts indefinitely; that’s if they are really waiting for the parts as their panelbeater could not produce the Back Order Letter when requested by Outsurance. Also, we are expected to wait further for that day that cannot be confirmed when the parts eventually arrive, and then afford them more time to then work on actually repairing the car?
With that said, we feel that we have afforded Outsurance more than enough time to repair the car, and they haven’t even started. As such, we feel that the option to write off that car may be the best option, as we are without a car; the car has been in the possession of Outsurance since the day of the collision.
Since you lodged your complaint, we have been in contact with you. Our main concern for our belated reply, was the service provider was closed and we could only make further enquiries this week.
The vehicle was assessed and it was confirmed the vehicle is being written off and we will finalise the claim for you as soon as possible
Please accept our sincere apologies for the frustrating service experience all along.
Regards
OUTsurance
