Full payout settlement
I am extremely disappointed with the handling of my claim by OUTsurance. I insured someone under policy number: OT ***3 and paid the full annual premium. Following their passing, I filed a claim expecting the full payout of R100,000, yet I only received R50,000.
The reason I was given is that “the policy was only paid for a year" which doesn't make sense to me because usually the trial period is six months and I wasn't told about that condition when I opened the policy. This is completely unacceptable and does not reflect the terms of the policy I fully paid for. I have logged multiple complaints since last year, yet this issue remains unresolved.
I demand the remaining amount of my claim be paid in full immediately. As a paying customer, I expect proper service and adherence to the policy I purchased.

We are not insensitive to the disappointing settlement amount.
We discussed this was a premature claim, based on our contract with you. You also did not pay the annual premium upfront, as mentioned. We merely collected a monthly premium for the duration of the policy being active.
However, based on the financial difficulty you would have suffered if we rejected the claim, as per our terms and conditions, we made a business decision to make the payment as per your review.

I still don't get why I forfeited 50% of my claim payout, the reasoning doesn't make sense to me
