Extremely poor service for loyalty at outsurance

Recently my wife's car was involved in an accident(me driving, 21 years driving and only 1 accident) ... she is insured with outsurance for 8 years and has NEVER put in a claim... that totals around 50k she has paid over this time. The insurance estimated the damages to the vehicle at 54k and decided to write it off as according to them it was only valued at 47k . Now because the vehicle that crashed into the back of us was also insured by them they told us we could not claim against that vehicle being in the wrong as the owner would not allow it (utter *******)why do we have insurance then... So they offered us less than half the estimated repair value they had quoted which was a total of 20k as we had taken the vehicle back and wanted to repair it .. So after 8 years of no claiming and taking 50k from us this is what they were willing to offer us and could not say why ... the woman's driver who crashed into the back of our vehicle changed his story 3 times and even though ALL drivers of the vehicles gave the same story except for his, they choose to believe him in order to not pay out more than they had to... to fix the vehicle will cost us around 33k so after paying outsurance 50k for them to only assist us with 20k we now must come up with and additional 13k to have the vehicle fixed.... outsurance has grown to big now from it's LOYAL customers and now chooses to neglect them but will DEFINATLY take your money every month .... way to go outsurance......

Your comments were concerning and immediately referred to our cliams manager to investigate.
She contacted your wife now, after the vehicle values were confirmed by our actuarial department. She explained the trade in value vs retail value, salavage calculations as well as insured value vs settlement values.
The adjusted value was also communicated and she explained 3rd party insurance concept. Your wife would only have benefited from the excess had the other party given permission thereto.
All of the above will be sent to your wife via e-mail which she requested.

Dinky

Thank you for the response nevertheless I find this explanation unacceptable in the fact that if the party who caused the accident and who is in the wrong will not give consent is unheard of ... the only reason outsurance is taking this so lightly is that all three parties involved were insured by outsurance... this ,if the consent was given from the party who was in the wrong it would have cost outsurance more... if the person was insured by someone else and not outsurance I Believe outsurance would have acted differently and not accepted the fact that sorry I don't consent... since when does a person or party who caused and accident have this option if they cause the accident and are showed to be in the wrong .... I think this is a poor excuse for outsurance to try and cut their costs at the cost of one of their LOYAL customers .... .. the least outsurance could offer is to cover the cost of repairing the vehicle in full as per quoted submitted ....
