Dishonest lying insurance company
I am very disgusted in the service I am receiving from Outsurance! A few months ago I bought a car and called Sanlam and Outsurance for quotes. I told the consultant that it would be my first time taking insurance and they made the offer sound so good! I told them i want to first do some shopping around but the consultant convinced me to take the offer. A few months later my car was not involved in a accident but a stray bullet went through it. While doing my claim I have discovered that there are other insurance companies who does not charge for windscreen repairs at all. To make matters worst the day after the incident by Windscreen cracked and now I must pay 2 excesses! When I told the claim advisor that there is another company that does not charge for Windscreens I was told all insurance companies are different. Which I fully understand but the excess they are charging to fix a windscreen R1300 and it cost R1500 to fix a windscreen without claiming. If my car was written off i would pay R4800 excess only but yet to fix the repairs for the Windscreen, Sun visor, speedometer screen and roof lining I'm paying the same. Which still I understand. But what makes me angry is I was not told in the beginning that I could have the option to make my excess R1000 and the windscreen excess R250. When I ask them why this was not explained to me I'm told maybe there was a miscommunication. To make matters even worst last week I was advised to change it to the minimum excesses and that the claim advisor would then send a motivation to management to let me pay the new excess amount. Management declined the case! But yet they deducted the prorata for the change. I told the claim advisor that I don't want to make any changes because its not guaranteed that it would be approved and like before he insisted and insisted that I changed it because there is a possibility that it will be approved. When i changed it the same day he phones to say managements approved it to be R1000 I said ok is it R1000 to fix the car and R250 for the windscreen? Then the claim advisor was confused! Which means he didn't even check what i changed the excess amounts to. Meaning his motivation but does not have all the information. And that's where I lost my trust in Outsurance. They quick to make a sale but when they must deliver they just have empty promises. And when they mess up you as a client are told there is a miscommunication! But its to cover up there lies and force selling!
