DISGUSTING service

Where to start !! Early January I had a accident with my car, I submitted a claim for the first time. It took about 1 week to get feedback from the claims department in Pretoria. They wanted to "write" my car off. I stated in a email to various parties that I do not give PERMISSION to have my car written off as not financially viable for me and I will with immediate effect cancel my policy and have my car repaired myself. Due to the fact that I was not allowed to submit my own independent quotes as HAD TO USE A OUTSURANCE APPROVED company. So I went through with the cancellation of my policy. Low and behold I get a call stating that I'm now allowed to get independent quotes and resubmit my claim and was advised to keep my policy open. I then obtain quote and send to Outsurance.. utter silence except for the 1 email confirming my quote had been revived. 2 weeks later I get my broker involved and tell him that I'm going to go ahead and personally pay to have my car repaired. Today I receive a phone call from a gentleman asking "have you been paid" I ask what for? Your car has been written off was his reply!!!! I asked why has this happened? Seen that my quote was R18 000 to repair my car and the quote from Outsurance was R42 000 to repair the exact same items . I was then told that I DID NOT ASK PERMISSION FROM OUTSURANCE to repair my OWN VEHICLE!!! Since when is that when you take out insurance that you sign possession over to Outsurance to basically make decisions on the owners behalf after strict several instructions that I do not give PERMISSION to have my car written off!!! It's DISGUSTING that a insurance company can do this I have recordings of my calls from outsurance

Good day,

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

Eddie our assessing manager contacted you to discuss your concerns as well as our assessment in detail. Your vehicle as per our assessment was uneconomical to repair. Subsequently a business decision was made together with the finance house's approval that you sign a disclaimer and the vehicle will become your property.

Thank you,

Kelvin

Best regards,
