Disgusting Customer Service

I really cannot believe the nerve of Outsurance. For a company that claims to be reliable and affordable, you really have a way of proving yourselves to be *****.

I have been with outsurance since 2017 and it has been a total *******. My insurance was R1100 with an excess of R10000. Eventually, after growing tired of being **********, I tried to move to Auto and General who quoted me R750 with an excess of R4500 (so much for Outsurance being the most affordable). When I called Outsurance to cancel, I was offered a policy adjustment with led to a premium of R879 with an excess of also R4500. This made me decide to stay, besides being annoyed that I had been overcharged for the longest.

Fast forward 3 months later, outsurance increases my premium to R1000 which I was told was an annual increase. I called Dial direct and asked for a quote and they also quoted me R750 for the exact same cover I have with Outsurance. When I tried to cancel, I was told that I would lose my outbonus and my husband and I received smses and emails telling us why Outsurance was the better option. That was on the 3rd of September. Again, my husband decided to stay with Outsurance.

Today is the 3rd of October and my Outsurance premium hasn't been debited. I checked on my app and to my surprise, my policy is no longer valid. I did not receive and notice of cancellation from Outsurance either via email or sms. My husband did not authorise any cancellation but still outsurance did whatever it saw fit to do. For the past 2 days, I've been waiting for a debit order to go off and Outsurance not one communicated with me.

I'm soo annoyed right now and I'll be seeking a legal course of action. What Outsurance has done is highly unacceptable.

Good day Diana,

Thank you for your feedback. We take much pride in our service delivery and we will always ensure we do the right thing.

Bianca our client services manager contacted you to address your concerns. We cancelled the policy based on the last conversation we had with your husband (policy holder). We may not debit a client's account without their consent.

We do apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,
OUTsurance

As mentioned in my conversation with Bianca, my husband never authorised the cancellation, he told the consultant that the final decision lay with me. The consultant never got back in touch with me and proceeded to cancel the policy and not notify me about it.

According to industry standards, I should have been notified when she proceeded to cancel my insurance policy, which did not happen. Instead I was led to believe that I still had a policy with Outsurance.

I will never do business with you again. If something had happened to my car during this mishap, the onus would have been on me to fix it due to a failing on Outsurance's part.

Again, even according to BIANCA, he DID NOT give the go ahead to cancel. She even mentions this in the email that she sent to us. And my main issue is that Outsurance DID NOT SEND A CANCELLATION NOTICE!!! That is not industry standard. Outsurance failed to NOTIFY me. But anyway, like I said, I'm never using you guys again.
