Disappointing and Shocking service towards 6 year old LOYAL CUSTOMER

I have been a loyal Outsurance customer for over 6 years now. I have my personal vehicle and household cover with Outsurance and now a business vehicle, always referring friends and family as the service and customer care that I had received has always been 7 star.

3 months ago I had purchased a new vehicle for business use and obviously did not bother to check other insurance companies because of my loyalty is to Outsurance. I immediately contacted them and had my new business vehicle insured with them. From this time onwards and currently, I am astonished by the bad service that I am receiving. Firstly, I had emailed and called in to let Outsurance know of the driver I had employed a month after the vehicle was bought and my premium stayed the same a quoted of R524.26. However, this driver was dismissed from my business and on Friday 5 January 2018 I called Outsurance to update them with my new drivers details. I was in total surprised to find that my new premium has now increased to R1398.46 from R524.26. This is absolutely unacceptable. Firstly, the reason been that my driver has a code C licence (which is obviously more qualified than the previous drivers code B) and he has a PDP (even more qualified). He has never been involved in any accidents and has a licence since 2009. How does a premium increase to more than double for a more qualified driver?? Secondly, Outsurance had the vehicle covered for transport of 3rd party goods which is correct but then the vehicle is insured to be parked at one spot during the day. Who purchases a delivery vehicle to stay parked at one place the whole day, everyday?? Then why purchase a vehicle?? When I mentioned this to the broker, he said that this will also cause the premium to increase. Thirdly, I was insured as the regular driver and the first drivers details ( who I called in about and emailed his details to them) were NOT updated on the system. So had the vehicle been involved in an accident with my first driver and he was not on the system as the stated regular driver despite me informing you about this, what would have been the case??? Also, I had Outsurance call me when my Netstar was installed stating they received the documents, when I spoke to the broker on Friday he says the system shows it was a Tracker?? Really, Outsurance??? Wheres this incompetency coming from??? The broker also wanted to know what value was outstanding on the vehicle. It is a new vehicle financed and as I said it is 3 months old so only 3 months of instalments has been paid thus far. Also because of this amount outstanding, my premium increases?? I told the broker that I was not prepared to pay this premium as it was just merely updating a drivers particulars. I was then transferred to a lady who "tried" to discount me but all she could do was 10% off. It was initially approximately R1500 and dropped to R1368. Still not good enough for me, Outsurance!. From R524 to more than double by updating a drivers details who is more qualified? I will be NOW requesting quotes from other insurance companies and will move my ENTIRE profile across after all these years. I am an entrepreneur and intend to purchase more vehicles this year towards my business, but if this is the greed that is evident then I will have to go else where. As stated previously, I never looked anywhere else for quotes, instead did all insurances with you and sent referrals as well. I am just so disappointed that this is the situation (especially in an industry where there are so may competitors) and that so much information was also amiss. Please look into my profile and should I not hear from you then I will cancel these policies by the end of this month as clearly valuing a loyal customer isn't so important any more.

Hello nirvashar

We are grateful for your feedback, although concerng.

Our client care manager contacted you after she did a proper revision of your cover which ultimately resulted in a reduced premium.

We will also refund you for the installation costs of the tracking device, which was not intended for your own account.

Thank you for accepting our apologies.

Regards
