Disappointed after being loyal for over a decade

On the 31 March 2020 my premium went up by R340.35 due to a claim. Thereafter we had the pandemic / lockdown kick in and I was told to work from home which meant I was hardly using my car - I did notify Outsurance of this and they reduced my premium by R84.13 and was told to advise them should I return to the office. I now receive a letter to note that my premium is going up R64.06. I consider myself low risk at this stage as I have had no claims for the past year and also have not returned to the office. My car is currently being used to do school trips down the road and to the shops for groceries (which is nearby). I have also advised them of this. Their only solution to "override my premium" is for me to raise my excess. This has never been the case in all the past years. I have been a client of Outsurance for over 11 years and they are not being flexible at all. I guess I will have to look elsewhere for further quotes as this is not how I expect to be treated after all the years that I have remained loyal to them.

Good day Rita,

We understand that receiving an annual increase notification at this stage is certainly unwelcome. This is a difficult time for all and the impact of Covid-19 to the economy and citizens is huge.

Shu'abe our client care manager contacted you to address your concerns regarding the rerate and he went through your profile in detail with you.

We are sorry for the disappointment.

Regards,
OUTsurance
