Disappointed

It is with sadness in my heart that I have to say Outsurance has failed me after being a loyal client for the best part of 20 years or more. I submitted a building claim this morning and after specifically asked whether I was covered or not it was said that an assessor first have to assess the damage. Waiting until late afternoon, the assessor eventually arrived and I was told he will submit his report and contact me in about 15 minutes with feedback. This was never done. Only after I called the claims consultant and the assessor for feedback the assessor called me back to inform me I am not covered for accidental damage that is firstly a safety issue and secondly being the main and only entrance to keep my vehicles safely secured. My problem is that their failure to inform me timeuosly of the outcome put the lifes of my family and the safe storage of my vehicle at risk. Now at close of business for the long weekend with no time to make alternative arragements. This is truely very sad and caused me to loose faith in a company I entrusted with insuring my risks. I am very disapointed, why was I not informed when lodging the claim that I am not covered? Why creating an unnecessary expectation where I could have made other arrangements? Maybe time to part ways.
