Desperate pensioner
My name is Abdus Salam Patel, I have been a loyal Outsurance client for 2 yrs. One of the main reasons I took cover with Outsurance was because I was told that once I reach pensionable age I will not pay an excess. I am now 63 years of age and have been living off an old age pension for the last three years. I recently had an accident with my car and I might add that I am not someone that claims in a hurry. However when I put a claim in I was told that I need to pay an excess because I did not inform them that I was a pensioner. I find this very disappointing because I would assume that after the age of 60, one is naturally assumed to be a pensioner. I now have to raise over R4000 for an excess. I don’t have this money and I am left in a situation where I don’t know how I will repair my car.As a pensioner I feel hard done by and don’t know where to turn. This is my only means of transport. I am very disappointed in Outsurance.
