********* Marketing and Failure to honour a pledge made to a client
On Friday 13 April 2018 at 13H41 to be precise I received a call from person who called himself , if I am not mistaken he said he was Thato from Outsurance. He had received my number from Mr. Edgar Ngobeni whom a I know. The purpose of the call was to offer me a vehicle insurance quotation which if it did not beat my current insurers premium, Outsurance would give me a R400.00 cash. He further explained that I would receive a further R400.00 thus totalling R800.00 . We spent 50 minutes on the phone while taking details of my assets as I desired that the entire assets be insured as a bundle which is the arrangement I have with my current insurer. At the end, the quote he gave me was higher than that of my current insurer. He then informed me that he would speak to his team leader to see if she/he could not do anything to beat my current premiums. He proceeded to that if the team leader is unable to do anything, I would then receive an e-mail with a link which I would be expected to complete and attach my policy document with the current insurer. We agreed and ended the call. The Monday which followed on 16 April 2018, at 08H09 I received an SMS on my phone from Outsurance providing unique login pin which it said was for accessing the Outsurance web page where my details ought to be submitted. It then referred me to an e-mail sent to me for further info.
I had not received the purported e-mail from Outsurance. After waiting the whole day, at 16H12 I called Outsurance on the number which had been provided on the SMS ***. I found a consultant who retrieved my details, but indicated that the reason I had not received the e-mail was because my e-mail address had been captured incorrectly. He informed me that he had corrected it, and I would then receive the illusive e-mail.
By the following day the said e-mail had not arrived. I called again, this time I found someone who said I had come through the sales division, he would refer my case via an e-mail to person who works in the R400 promotion division who would then get in contact with me and send me the illusive e-mail. To this date, I have not received such e-mail and I am sitting with a "UNIQUE PIN" in my SMS which is misleading.
In as much as I am aware of their R400 promotion, but I did not call Outsurance simply to score a free cash, instead Outsurance called me, offered me a pledge they were not willing to honour, at the same time wasted 5/6 hour of time. This is ********* marketing.
