Damages property - won't accept responsibility
I had a geyser burst in a bathroom and contacted Outsurance. They allocated a contractor to correct the problem.

The Contractor in question dropped a brick into the bath in the bathroom while removing the ceiling boards subsequently breaking the bath. I was told at the time that they will sort it out with the insurance and that I did not have to worry.

Weeks later, nothing had happened. I phoned Outsurance and was told that the contractor refuses to accept responsibility and that they too would not be covering the damage. I was told to lodge a new claim and pay the associated excess in order for them to repair the damage their contractor had caused.

I've phoned numerous times about this and always get told I will be phoned back and that it has been escalated. To my knowledge it has not been escalated. Received an email on 2015-08-24 indicating my only recourse is to lodge a new claim.

I find it unacceptable that they refuse to take responsibility for the negligence of their contractors. Ultimately the contractor is at fault. Why should I pay ?

Outsurance is unwilling to budge on this and the call centre staff respond with the same \\lodge a new claim\. \"\"\""
