Courtesy Car Disappointment

It is so disappointing when after I have written such a positive, glowing review I know have to write a less favourable one.

Outsurance organised a courtesy car for me after I was involved in a car accident on 9 June 2017 (I received excellent service by the way). I received the courtesy car on 12 June 2017 and you only get it for 30 days. Today is 12 July 2017 and I had to return the car back at 10am. Repairs on my car, mind you, are far from being completed.

On Monday 10 July 2017 I called Outsurance to ask how far repairs on my car are, they told me they didn't know. After they authorise the claim and the car is delivered to the panel beaters, It is up to me (the client) to liase with the panel beaters. This was news to considering that I had received an sms from outsurance two weeks prior stating that repairs on my car were still in progress so naturally I assumed that they were keeping track of the progress. I will touch on said repairs later.

So anyway, I then proceeded to tell the customer care consultant that I received a courtesy car on 12 June 2017 and seeing that I was told I can only have it for 30 days, I would have to return it on 12 July 2017, therefor may I request an extention as getting around with my kids will be very difficult once I return the car. I was told that it wasn't possible to extend and that if I do want to extend, it will have to be at my own expense. With the current economic climate that was not even an option for me. Which means that myself, my 4 year old and my 11 month old will have to resort to using a taxi from tommorow morning.

I will have to wake my kids up at 5am (which means I have to be up at 4am) so that we are all ready by 6am. Then I'll have to carry my 11 month old who weighs 10kg 1 km to where the taxis are. My 4 year old will have to walk that distance seeing as I can't carry both of them. Then we'll have to catch a taxi to town then get another taxi from town to Sunnyside where their creche is near UNISA. Then we'll have to walk to the creche because the taxi is not going to drop us off at the doorstep. Then after that I'll have to walk 2.7km (according to google maps) to work. Then in the afternoon repeat the process in reverse. Actually, this all starts today because I dont have a car to get home with!

Thanks OUTSURANCE for this incovenience! That'll we'll have to experience til who knows when because I went to see the "progress" being made on my car...the term "progress"is clearly being used loosely! Especially considering that my car has been there one whole month!!!

Reviewer Update

Outsurance has been kind enough to organise another courtesy car for me. Thank you for this Outsurance. This is the level of service I have always received from you and it really did pain me to have to write my complaint here because I never not received excellent service from you guys.

Thank you to Thapelo Tshikotshi who contacted me and assisted in organisng me with anothre car, he was very polite and he even apologised for the inconvenience caused. Also thank you to Lerato Mtjali who also contacted me and assured me that she will liase with the panel beaters and keep me updated with the repairs on my car.
