Complaint and Review for Eddie de Beer and Outsurance

I am writing to express my deep frustration and dissatisfaction with the service I have received from Eddie de Beer, who was recently nominated as my policy administrator. His handling of my policy has been unacceptable, and I feel compelled to share my experience.

Upon notifying Eddie of my employment change from Anglo American to Exxaro Resources, which resulted in a change of location, Eddie proceeded to update my policy without even contacting me. He increased my monthly premium from R2,196.78 to R2,996.82 without offering any explanation or justification. I found out only after receiving the updated policy, which was sent without a single word from Eddie.

This is unprofessional and reflects a complete disregard for customer care. The steep increase in premiums was never communicated or discussed with me, which I find incredibly disrespectful. I now feel that Eddie is not acting in my best interests.

Furthermore, Eddie incorrectly updated my address. Instead of using my home address in Pretoria, where I work five days a week, he listed my work accommodation in Lephalale as my primary address. My correct home address.

This error further illustrates the lack of attention to detail and understanding of my situation. I request that my address be updated immediately and that Eddie de Beer be removed as my policy administrator. His service has been disappointing, and I do not wish to continue with him managing my insurance.

Lastly, if my premiums cannot be reverted to the original R2,196.78, please inform me as I will have no option but to cancel my insurance policy. I cannot accept paying R2,996.82 without clear communication or justification.

I expect immediate action regarding these issues.

and I am demanding an immediate explanation as to why R273.90 was debited from my account on 11 October 2024 without my consent. Outsurance has taken money out of my account without notifying me or even providing a reason. How is this acceptable? Why was I not made aware of this, and who authorized it?
This whole situation is beyond unacceptable. Why would you set up a contract, agree to a specific debit date, and then randomly pull money from my account in the middle of the month? Do contracts mean nothing to you? This type of shady practice is absolutely absurd and makes me question Outsurance’s integrity.
I want answers and I want them now. Who authorized this unauthorized debit, and why? You have no right to take money out of my account whenever you feel like it, without my clear consent. Where is the respect for customer agreements?
I expect a full explanation for this mess, and I want to know what Outsurance plans to do about it.

Hello Kgotso

Further to our private reply to you, we received feedback from our broker manager, confirming she contacted you.

After all email correspondence between yourself and our broker had been retrieved, it was clear that our broker acted according to your instructions and what was discussed.

We have since changed your address back to where it was before the changes, as you confirmed where you will park your vehicle the majority of time. This resulted in a premium reduction and the pro rata refund will reflect in your account soon.
It is imperative for us to  have the correct details captured and noted.

Thank you for affording us the opportunity to have discussed your concerns with you.
