CLAIM REJECTED DUE TO ONE ITEM NOT BALANCING
Our business was broken into in August 2017 Outsurance advised. A Claims advisor came out within a week. we were asked to present all documentation requested by them going back 5 months. The claims advisor spent at least 4 hours checking all documentation that everything was in order and balanced. To be quiet honest I felt as though i had been treated as a ******** rather than the victim. To get to the point...we been with Outsurance for a very long time and have never in the past been rejected of a claim due to stock not balancing. This has never been an issue in the past. The reason we have insurance is to protect us in the event of a break-in thats why people have insurance. I am very dissapointed in their service for the very first time and I feel as a loyal customer that they could have been more sympathetic towards my loss in my business. I was told that the reason for the rejection on my approx R200,000 claim was due to a 5" car speaker not balancing. Out of a R200,000 claim only +/- R14,000 was paid....this is a fraction of what I lost. Totally unexceptable. The breakin has set me back alot in my business. I have my supplier that needs to be paid for all holding stock and now outsurance rejects my claim. To make matters worse...they did not make an attempt to keep us as their customers but instead gladly cancelled our policy and that to immediately after rejecting our claim. I would like to give them another opportunity to resolve this matter before I take this matter a step further.
Hello shady777
It's essential for us to validate claims and owe it to all our clients to pay valid claims.
We are naturally not insensitive the the financial loss you incurred after the entire claim was not settled.
Our assessing manager contacted you again after having received this complaint and again discussed the clear discrepancies with you.
Our decision not to entertain the rest of the claim remains unchanged.
Regards
Dinky
