Check your Outsurance premium regularly

Outsurance attracts business with cheaper premiums "switching & saving" & "always getting something out" as in a bonus. I moved to Outsurance about 15 years ago because they were cheaper at the time. Along the way had great service with claims & changes to policy. It was very easy to just call them. In 2019 i felt my premiums were too high & I had not received a bonus for a few years even though our last claim was more than 2 years ago. So got some other quotes from an insurance broker. I have just "switched & saved" about R1,000 per month & no ecsesses are payable ! My suggestion is that you find a good broker who can shop around for the best deal & do comparisons with your Outsurance policy. We even now have R30,000 pet cover in our new policy ! This way you will not be ********** with increasing premiums & have someone looking after your interests who understands the business. In November 2019 my premium increased by 16%.

Good day Mark,

Thank you for your feedback. We take much pride in our service delivery as well as products and you mentioned you did receive good service however it is a pity we were not able to offer you a better premium.

Regarding the OUTbonus, you need to remain claims free for 3 years in order to qualify. You had a claim in October 2017 therefore the OUTbonus would have been payable in October 2020 should you have remained a client and been claims free.

We are sorry for disappointing you.

Regards,
OUTsurance

The Outbonus in my case is a hoax & a marketing ploy. Why should the bonus be subject to no claims ? Surely it is premium related & the premiums don't change, after all Outsurance quote "You always get something out" as one of their marketing tricks. Rather not give a bonus & reduce premiums. I believe my premium was increased to cover the bonus amount. The premium i am now paying to Santam is about R1,000 less than what i paid Outsurance which means i will save the same amount as my bonus by the time it is due. Santam (100 years old), who i have now moved to accepted my business at better premiums with no excess in spite of claims history, & i am now dealing with a broker who can help me with claims etc. Except for a claim for spectacles, i made 3 claims to Outsurance, 2 of which were recovered in full from the other parties. The 3rd i dont believe was entirely our fault but Outsurance did not follow through on our behalf. There were no witnesses so was a difficult case. Outsurance is not cheap & we need to compare premiums regularly - this is my point.
