Change of premium for an under 25 year old driver

I was previous insured with Alexander Forbes. My daughter is under 25 years old and I wanted to include the insurance of her car. Alexander Forbes gave me the option of having my daughters car insured in her name at high premium but with a low excess. Or they gave me the option of having my daughters car insured in my name but if my daughter had an accident then we would have to pay the high excess. I chose the latter. In 2014 I approached Outsurance to get a quote because I was concerned about the cost of my short term insurance. When it came to discuss my daughters car I asked if I could choose the option of having my daughters car insured in my name (therefore a lower premium) but if my daughter had an accident then we would have to pay the high excess. I was told YES!

The quote I got from Outsurance was now cheaper than Alexander Forbes so I changed to Outsurance. Now 3 years later Outsurance have changed my policy. They won't allow the car to be in my name because my daughter is the permanent driver so they are now charging me a HIGH premium but they are also still charging me HIGH excess. They even had the cheek to ask me to pay in the difference between what the premium they say "should have been" since I joined in 2014 They told me it is not an option of having my daughters car insured in my name with a lower premium but a high excess should there be an incident. I told them what I was told when I joined and I suggested that they go back and listen to the conversation as all calls are recorded. Outsurance fortunately did this and phoned me back saying they had listed to the recording and I was correct and therefore I didn't have to pay in the difference in the premium for the last 3 years but they insisted on increasing the premium AND keeping the high excess going forward.

What I strongly object to is maybe I would have stayed with Alexander Forbes had I been CORRECTLY informed that an under 25 year old has to pay the higher premium and have a higher excess. I feel misinformed and feel now I have to shop around for short term insurance quotes again.
