Car jam

Hi there,

I was hit by a women driving a car registered with Outsurance in January. My insurance wanted to write my car of and said I must speak to her insuranace. Outsurance required certain documents which I completed and sent to them. They emailed back saying they accept the payment amount and that payment will be made in 10 working days.

A couple of days letter the Outsurance lady communicated that they were retracting their acceptance and will advise with a new number. She then comes back to me with an amount almost half the previous amount. She then spins a story about warranty, discounts and non-genuineparts that they get with an approved panelbeater for my car make. I said I do not accept this and I will go see your panelbeater, Stellenbosch panelbeaters. I was assured that even though my car is out of warranty that they are not allowed to use non-genuine parts for my car. Hmm...

I then converyed to the Outsurance lady, Mercy Pule, what the panelbeater said, but to no avail. After much discussion, I emailed Outsurance's ***** department, seeing that this lady is telling lies. The ***** department contacts me and after further communication said I should take my car to another panelbeater (that is not approved) to be fixed. I said I dont accept this either. They reviewed it again and then came with amount about R1000 more than theri 2nd offer.

Seeing that is now 6 months along, I said I accept the amount. I have emailed this women twice with no response. It is now 3 weeks later. My message is that you will struggle to get something out from Outsurance. Do not get hit by car that is insured with Outsurance.

regards

Keegan

Hello Kelvin,
Lebo and I had a long discussion. We have agreed to disagree on certin issues, but have a way forward. I have learnt a lot about the insurance industry. Certain things in the process need to change. For example, digital assessments. Your company communication must improve as well.

Sorry about the delay. I personally went into the claim and can see payment was processed. I have requested Lebo to investigate why the delay.
