Can't understand premium increase

At the end of August my monthly premium was deducted from my bank account and had increased by 71% which astounded me. I had spoken to a consultant to query this number as I hadn’t received the revised quote as it had been spent to my spam mailbox. The consultant tried to explain the reasoning which included inflation, risk and claim history all of which cannot surely result in such an increase. On the call it was revaluated and the number was reduced by a couple % points. At the end of the call I’d ask that they conduct a full audit on my history as it would be very clear that 2 claims related to the same problem. When claiming for a damaged floor, I told the assessor that it appears to be a water leak of some form but he was adamant that it was not and that it was a water spill and proceeded to pay for a wooden floor replacement for which I paid excess. The issue persisted and the water damage became more pronounced and for which I called to log a claim again. A new claim was logged for the SAME issue not a different issue and I paid excess for this too along with suffering the consequence of an excessive premium hike for an *********** assessor. The second assessor included several people coming out to my property which included a leak detector who on 1st inspection said his 100% certain of where the leak is and then required the wall to be chopped and the basin to be removed, upon that being done it was clear the leak was elsewhere. The leak detector came out again and gave an assessment that the leak was in the shower and resulted in my shower being chopped up to find the leak which was then repaired. Everything then had to be repaired, wall was replastered and painted. However, the repainting resulted in the paint running as it was app**** on wet cement (still in this state), my basin wasn’t secured and I had to call out the people again to secure it. When resecuring the basin they started a leak on the basin (which is still dripping). Please explain how a burst geyser and poor assessment warrants an above 60% increase in my premium? This is ****************, please review the above and come back to me with something concrete.

Hello Ismael

We fully understand your disappointment after having been notified of the steep increase following the annual review of your policy.

Our client care manager contacted you, after having obtained feedback from our claims department about the claims lodged during this period. The 3 claims were the result of 3 separate incidents which caused and were claimed for, and were therefore correctly noted.

Thank you for the opportunity to have discussed your concerns.

Regards
OUTsurance

Best regards,

Please note, the issue has not closed and the client care manager had agreed that the claims department would investigate and get back to me as she could not resolve issues with claims that were logged incorrectly. So please note the response above is inaccurate, much the same way that my claims were inaccurate which resulted in an incorrect insurance premium adjustment. Please do only post things that are completed once they are actually completed as I'm still waiting for a resolution and someone from claims to contact me as the care manager only cares about premium changes but not the associated claims that resulted in the increase.

Hi
Thought it best to follow this thread. After failing to understand the above I decided to explore alternatives and have now found a suitable alternative but I cannot cancel my policy. I have called thrice and still awaiting the response. Can someone please call me to cancel my policy
