Beware of Outsurance

On 6 February I sent Outsurance a message asking how I go about cancelling a policy. I had started looking at other insurance companies as I was paying R1780 per month for car and household cover. They attempted to call me but I cannot always take calls while at work. Then on 13 February a gentleman from Outsurance calls me and tells me that they did not receive my premium. I tell him there is no way as none of my debit orders were unpaid last month. He checks his system and then comes back to tell me oh sorry your policy is cancelled. So Outsurance decided to cancel my policy without me explicitly asking them to. I asked for a reference number so that I could take this to the Ombudsman and the caller changed his tune now asking to requote me. After 30 minutes on the phone the best you can offer is R1300. Well you know what you can do with that. Before hanging up he has the cheek to ask me for referrals! This is a "senior financial advisor" who told me "he is fine by the grace of God" as well, before telling me they have been trying to call me for two weeks.
