Being with OUTSURANCE left me in a R90,000 debt

I received a phone call from an OUTSURANCE sales consultant trying to get me to change insurance companies... Nice guy, price was fair, so I changed. After a few months I was in an accident, nothing major, I was at fault, I rear ended a small 1ton truck which braked as I checked my blind spot to overtake him. Was not going fast, bout 60km. Anyway... OUTSURANCE handled everything efficiently, my car was leaking water so couldn't drive it.

After their repair center checked my car, said it was a right off, and they paid me out. I then got a new car, and during some heavy rain in cape Town a few months after, my front corner hit a movable chevron by some road works, the chevron had a plastic packet covering it, so I couldn't see its reflection as per its intended purpose.

I called OUTSURANCE to request a tow truck as my wheel was buckled. But wanted towed just to my local panelbeater as this was a minor accident, no need for insurance.

They took my car to their repair center and to my amazement Said that the assessor said my cars a write off!

I told them it definitely was not & instructed them to drop the car off at my local panelbeater, who took all of 3days to fix my car at a cost of R5000.

I then realised that the less damage a car has, the more they get it for it at the salvage yard auction. I was highly upset bout this & complained to OUTSURANCE, only to get call from an OUTSURANCE investigator who was investigating the accident even though no claim was made.

He then *******ly obtained my police clearance which has a record of something stupid I did as teenager almost 20yrs ago. Then said OUTSURANCE will be suing me to pay back all the money they paid me out as my contract was null & void due to me not disclosing this 20year old crime which I pled guilty to & repaid the debt in full all those years ago.

All this effort to get out of a contract, which I paid every month like clock work, over a claim I never submitted nor intended to...which tells me that I was right about them falsely writing off vehicles to get better reimbur*****ts from the salvage yard auctions.

I now apparently ow OUTSURANCE R90,000 for a R60,000 claim they paid out... Nevermind all the installments I paid either.

Not impressed at all
