Being taken for a ride by outsurance
Good day everyone im monwabisi mjojeli from port elizabeth im a professional nurse, in june 2018 i bought a new polo tsi from vw market square Uithenhage, i took out car insurance with outsurance and i listed me and my father as regular driver of the vehicle, my father is unemployed and is on chronic meds since i spend most of my time @ work, on 08/04/2020 around 07:30 on my way to work i was involved in a car accident i phoned my insurance and submitted a claim they then took the car to their s****yard(auction nation in walmer) they did assessment which was done by mr piet vd wusthuizen they then informed me that its a write off and i must send them settlement letter which i did, i recieved a phone call later on from a lady from outsurance she then said to me i must also pay an amount of which i refused i told her when i took the cover for the car it covers retail price of the car, shortfall, 3rd party up to 5, 000, 000 medical expenses up to R5000 per person she then said to me it was the manager that told her to inform me so i asked her to put me through to the manager she never did, i phoned assessor which is mr piet vd wusthuizen he said his gonna do investigation of which i comp**** he asked for my bank statement, work address photos of both my father and mine id and drivers licence work permit since its lockdown i sent everything through he verified everything i even have all the documents with me confirmation of cover whatsapp msgs between me and the assessor they couldn't find fault from my side then mr wusthuizen phoned me and asked to meet together with the manager and asked him why cant we speak over the phone because its on record he couldnt answer me then i told him if he wants to meet then it must be in the presence of my lawyer then he said to me he is going to have a meet with the manager and get back to me, they kept quiet for close to 2weeks then i decided to call then again at the time i was so furious with the treatment ive been subjected to and as an average worker as i am but ive always been up to date with everything they never had a problem with me, i was asked about my second car which is a toyota verso who's driving it and why it is not insured and my response was i can afford to insure two cars and it has got nothing to do with the claim that i submitted to cut the story shot, today @ 16:07 i received a phone call from them they told me they have rejected the claim because i was driving the car imagine im the owner of the vehicle ive got the right to drive my car when i feel like it even worse this happened on my way to work i'll try and attach every document that i have for everyone to see how some of us are being treated and taken for a ride ive forwarded everything to my lawyer and i promise to keep everyone posted on the progress of this, i never thought a big company like this can do such things please copy and share much appreciated
