Be Very Careful when taking out Building Insurance with Outsurance
Been a customer of Outsurance since 2013. Submitted a claim on 13 September 2021 then was assigned an assessor from Kimberley yet my address is in Cape Town. Was contacted on 27 September by assessor in Cape Town advising me that anyone over the age of 18 in the house needs to sign some sort of consent else the claim would not proceed. Keep that in mind when you take out building insurance with them and ensure anyone over 18 in your household is in good standing with you else you're *****ed. At the very least pay me my premiums back as this should be the first thing mentioned when taking out a policy. Perhaps they should include the over 18s in the initial sign-up telephone conversation and get consent first before taking your money.

I already provided all the info and the damaged goods. How difficult is it? Make a decision already. It's very simple and you complicating it. Yes sir you have a valid claim here or no you don't and provide reasoning as to why not. STOP WASTING MY TIME!!! These guys also don't understand the new POPI act as they ask you for personal information from other people in the household which is legally privileged. Gave my wife's date of birth at the time over the telephone which they were not legally allowed to ask for. Before you know it the consent form had her full ID number on next to where she needed to sign. Don't give them other people's info, you are not allowed to do so without asking those individuals first. They cover themselves with this BS consent letter. And if you stay in a residential estate believe me they will call the estate to get records of whom entered and exited the estate.
