Bad service of outsurance authorised panel shop to put **** body parts
Hi I am currently facing an issue with outsurance I had a minor accident I took my vehicle to panel shop which is authorised bu outsurance They gave me a form to sign it And it’s written clearly that v r using not genuine parts means they r using face copy parts in simple words chines parts I brought my vehicle back I contact to outsurance agent they are fully aware of the situation and they said v gave them authority to put copy parts into ur genuine German Vw car which is locally assembled in SA I. Was very upset when they gave me this statement I asked them why u authorised them to put **** parts into someone vehicle so they said ur. Vehicle is expensive but it’s over 120 k So after that mileage v allowed them to put **** parts into ur. Vehicle I am currently batt with them to put only genuine parts into my vehicle other wise v will settle this matter into the court
Further to our private reply our claims manager Ethel contacted you to discuss the matter.
The Ombudsman for Short Term Insurance has given approval for all insurers to use 2nd hand or alternative parts for vehicles out of their factory warranty period. This will only be for parts such as fenders, panels, lights etc. and not for safety parts. The vehicle must be repaired to the manufacturers specifications.
You mentioned to Ethel that you would like to use your own service provider who will use OEM parts at the same cost we were quoted.
She has sent you a form to complete, to allow for this and will assist accordingly.
