Bad service from Outsurance

On Monday 15May2017 a part of my celling collapsed at about 5pm. I immediately called Outsurance. As I did not know what the cause could be (the water comming in was cold.) I requested an assessor for it could be geyser or rain water. On Wednesday the assessor came in the one door, looked at the hole, went out the front door. Looked at the roof, adn declared it was because ther is leafs in the roof gully. When I pointed out 1- the hole was very far from the gully and 2. there was not a lot of leaves as we clean it every second week as there is 3 big trees on that side, He just left without even going onto or into the roof.

I indicated to outsurance that I did not agree with is assesment. And will get a second oppinion.

By Thursday a very slow drip was noticed as we removed the bucket that morning. and by friday the drip was more noticeable.

When an independent contractor came to have a look by friday, they found a pipe from/to the teyser was leaking.

I informed outsurance and included the foro's of the contractor but Outsurance reply was that

"HI, CHECKED CLAIM AND REPORT FROM BOTH ASSESSOR AND CLT.
ASSESSOR FOUND NO WATER DRIPPING FROM CEILINGS ON ASSESSMENT 15/5 DAMAGES TO THE CEILING CALCULATED SIMILAR TO WHAT CLT IS CLAIMING FOR ASSESSOR FINDINGS FOUND THAT THE VALLEYS WERE BLOCKED AND WATER PROOFING AT RIDGE.
CLT SP INDICATES THAT ON THE 19/5 THAT THERE IS A BURST PIPE IN THIS VACINITY. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AFTER THE FACT OF ASSESSOR FINDINGS.
HAPPY TO SET AS PER ASSESSOR RECOMENDATION. ROOF TO REMAIN ENDORSED CLT TO ATTEND TO LEAKING PIPE PRIVATELY AS THIS WOULD BE LESS THAN THE EXCESS AND WILL HAVE TO BE A SEPERATE INCIDENT." from their email.

The pipe next to tap was corroded but did not burst and I never claimed that it did.

Facts:

1 the geyser sits in the crest of the roof.

2 the skylight and hole is to the south of crest

3 the gully/ vally to the north of crest

4 the hole and gully/vally is between 2 to 3 meters appart

5 if you look up into the hole( after theye removed the pink think) you can acctually see the pipe+tap

I have requested Outsurance to send an assessort (that does climb into roofs) to come and see for himself, but has recieved no reply. It has been almoust 3 week today from start of problem.

Oneka Groenewald
