Bad experience at outsurance
About 3 weeks back I removed a vehicle that I sold. The lady that helped me asked if I am buying another vehicle. I said not now, but in a months time. She then said I must preliminary put insurance on for the new vehicle and when I buy it I just update the details. So we preliminary put on a 2004 Disco 2 td5 beige. She said that if I get a older model and a white then my premium would be less. Today I phoned to register my new car and start the insurance. It's a 2001 Disco 2 td5 white in color. To my disgust I was quoted more that for a 2004:model even though this one's retail is less. I told the gentleman that he must listen to my conversation of 3 weeks back where the lady said it will be less. He then referred me to his manager and when I told her to go back and listen to the recording she ended the call. I am still waiting for her to call me back. I have been many years with outsurance and have all my possessions insured but this has been really a bad experience that I received today. This is really not what I expected from outsurance.
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention.
Further to our private response, we confirm that our client services manager, Abigail, contacted you to address your concerns. The main reason for the difference in premium is due to the vehicle being noted as an imported vehicle. At claim stage, the repair cost would be higher than locally manufactured vehicles.
We do apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused.
