Bad Business Practise - Outsurance

Third Party Claim : 4 - 6 weeks

How insane is this! They make you wait between 4 - 6 weeks BEFORE they even assess your vehicle.

According to them: the fact that they have an accident report/police report from their insured on file is irrelevant: as part of their "awesome service" they contact the client to discuss the claim with him (purely a delay tactic).

According to them: the insured does not always answer his phone and this can take up to .... mmmm two weeks or so. This has nothing to do with liability! Why delay the claim? (another delay tactic)

According to them: they get permission from their insured to pay out the Third party claim (What total BS! The underwriter assesses liability regarding the Third Party Claim and INFORMS the client, NOT the other way around.)

According to them: it's on a first come, first serve basis (I am not entirely sure if they actually physically fix the vehicles themselves which would cause them to have a backlog) and if this is how they deal with their claims, thank God I am not insured with them directly!

With this amounts to is bad business practise. They make it as difficult as possible to claim from them directly, forcing you to claim through your own insurance.

As we all know in the industry, it can take up to three years to recover costs from another insurance company proving to be too cost effective, which is why very few pursue it.

Win - Win for them = no claim!

Hi chantal-pollacchi,
Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention. 3rd party claims do take longer than general claims due to the logistics and administration of the claim. As you described it can also take a couple of years and this is due to summons been issued however we can't control if the parties attend the court hearing etc. Regarding your claim our legal department has sent you an offer and we are waiting for your feedback. Once you reply we can finalize the claim.
Regards, Kelvin
