Attitude of assecor towards me regarding my claim

I submitted a claim after a house break in. At my sliding door the padlock was broken and the doors was lift of the railing and the lock where forced open. The police took the padlock as evidence and took pictures of the broken door. The assessor came to my house to asses my claim. He is not happy with the way the break in occurred, apparently there is not enough evidence. My husband repaired the sliding doors after the police has been there so now he recon that the door is not in the same condition as what I at first describe in my statement after the incident. I feel that they are not treating me fairly in terms of the TCF principles. All the evidence is currently with the police and they are busy with the investigation regarding the case. Why am I been treated as if I am the ******** in this case?? What is the use then of having an insurance company?? And yes I do understand that they have a job to do but surely they must have the ability to determine who is the real ********* and who is the victims
