As an OUTsurance client of almost 18 years, I’m disappointed that every windscreen claim still becomes the same fight over OEM glass. My vehicle is under motorplan and has ADAS systems, so OEM glass matters. “SABS approved” may be acceptable, but it is not automatically the same as original BMW glass. I had to ask who would be responsible if BMW later declined an ADAS-related claim due to non-OEM glass being fitted. Only then did the OEM approval become easier. The claim was resolved, but after 18 years, this repeated debate is getting stale.
