I am in the process of buying a property in a complex, and received an incredibly aggressive and coercive sales call from Outsurance. The lady I spoke to presented nothing as an option and pretended that building insurance is is required to be taken out with Outsurance, and that the process was already started. I told her that it's a unit in a complex, and the Body Corporate is responsible for the insurance, and I am still a few months away from moving in. She insisted that I must take out the insurance with Outsurance and that it will activate when i take residence. I told her that I will not be taking out building insurance at all, since it's already taken care of, and that if i needed it, it is my choice who i want to use for it.

I find the aggressive and coercive nature of this sales call appalling. It is ********* to pretend that something is required when it;'s not, and to apply a false sense of urgency, all in a desperate attempt to trick an unsuspecting person into taking out insurance for something that is already insures. What happens when a claim needs to be done? Certainly Outsurance will refuse to pay it out because the building is double-insured, but this will not be told to a client before Outsurance takes months or years of premiums from the,

Absolutely appalling sales strategy. I will not be considering Ouitsurance in any future dealings.
