A 30 M TALL BLUE GUM FELL ON THE ROOF ON SUNDAY

The massive 50 year old blue gum on our property in Craighall fell onto the garage roof in the early hours of Sunday morning. At 9.30am I phoned Outsurance emergency after hours service and explained what had happened.<br> Within one hour of my reporting this monumental disaster, Thato at the Outsurance emergency assistance desk had arranged for Ingwe Tree Felling to come and remove the tree from the roof so that we could assess the damage. Half an hour later the Ingwe guys arrived fully equipped with ropes, chainsaws and a flat- bed truck. They carefully assessed the immediate danger, and recommended that we take the cars out of the garage in case the tree, which was supported by the creepers and foliage, gave way and crashed through the garage roof.<br> Then they cautiously removed the weighty branches until they could safely clear the trunk of the tree away from the buildings. By lunch time we could see the damage to the roof, which was negligible. As they cut, they cleared the timber. Thato phoned in at regular intervals to check progress, and gave me an email address where I could send pictures and updates on their progress. Thanks guys, awesome se4rvice
