3rd party claim. Never
On the 28th of November a vehicle crashed through my boundary wall. He is insured with outsurance. He swerved to miss another vehicle who skipped a stopstreet and he then crashed through my wall. Outsurance notified me that they will not pay for the wall because it was not their customers fault. How can this be right? Moral of the story - make sure that your insurer cover items like this because accidents happen and if they dont want to back you you will have to pay for it yourself

06 Dec 2019, 12:00After reviewing the case Outsurance still say that they are not responsible..They suggest that I must claim the money from the man that skipped the stop street although I have no connection to him.
We had a similar situation about 18 months ago at another premises where a driver insured by Hollard drove through a fence and smashed into a wendy house that was destroyed with all the contents inside. The driver was chased by an unknown vehicle and that is why he made the accident. So it was probably also not his fault. Within a week the claim was settled and paid for in full.
So, be careful with your insurer. They are there to back you when you do have a problem, but with some they will only do so when it suits them.
You are driving down the road and a child, or a dog run over the road. You swerve to miss them and end up crashing your vehicle. The sad news is that outsurance will not pay because it was not your fault. SO you will have to fix it from your own pocket???
The cheapest is not always the best option. remember that you get what you pay for. And in this case the outsurance customer will have to answer in court.
If you buy a BMW and put cheap replica parts in chances are good that the vehicle will leave you stranded late at night in a remote dangerous area. getting the wrong insurance will leave you stranded when you need it most.

11 Dec 2019, 11:32Good day Henk,
Thank you for bringing the matter to our attention.
Lebo our legal manager contacted you to address your concerns and he discussed the merits of the claim in detail with you. Based on legal principles we have advised you to claim from the other party who skipped the stop street.
Our decision to refute liability remains unchanged.
Regards,
OUTsurance
