133% increase in Pet Insurance excess
I've had a policy for pet insurance with Outsurance for 4.5 years, and my excess has always been about R300. Today I was informed that my excess is now R700 for Vet Visits. With a limit of R6500, and my average claims for vet visits at about R1000 each, it means Outsurance excess comes to R4200 and I get R1800! I thought with Outsurance, I am supposed to "always get something out". When I queried it, I was told that their flat rate of R700 is better than a percentage based rate. How is a 133% increase in excess acceptable? And what if next year they add another 133% excess?.
