Customer disservice - Outdoor Warehouse
I returned my broken Campmor tent to Outdoor Warehouse in Rondebosch, Cape Town a week after having bought it.
The pole snapped at 2am and collapsed on my wife on the second night we used it. Luckily not on my 10 month old baby. I had to pack up an entire camp site and come home from Worcester at 4am. So I am just a little bit ****ed that I spent a lot of money on a tent that could not serve its intended purpose.
The manager, Gary told me that the tent must be sent to Campmor for invesigation because the poles are not covered under the guarentee. I find this highly insulting as it was one week old.
I did not purchase the tent from Campmor. I purchased an inferior product from Outdoor Warehouse. You can fight with Campmor regarding whether or not you will get your money back form them. I want my money from outdoor warehouse!
According to the CPA,
"Goods must be reasonably suitable for the purposes for which they are intended, and must be of good quality, in good working order and free of any defects."
"They must also be useable and durable for a reasonable period of time."
That tent was not durable for a reasonable period of time therefore I must get a full refund. I do not care what is or isn't written on the back of your receipt. I do not want an inferior quality tent repaired and I do not want another new one. Please do not waste my time further with assessments and checks at Campmor. I am going camping soon and I need to buy another tent that will last me longer than one night. Should I not achieve the desired outcome I will take this further.
I have e-mailed the Rondebosch branch and have received no response from them. This is terrible service!!! I spent R6000 at Outdoor Warehouse on the day (my first time shopping there) and I will not spend a cent more. You just lost a customer.
