Bad Service George Store - by Manager

I purchased a Garmin 276cx GPS form the Port Elizabeth store on 7 December 2017. I stay in Queenstown, when I tried to charge the unit it failed to charge the battery. The box was open when I got the unit as it was on display and was the only unit in the store. I returned the unit to the George store on 14 December 2017. They did not have a replacement unit in store. I requested to be refunded, the store Manager refused and insisted that the unit be sent to Garmin to be repaired or replaced. They neglected to advise me that Garmin will be closed until early in Jan 2018, I only got this information when I phoned them on 27 Dec 2017 to get an update on the process. I asked for the unit to be sent to the East London store once replaced but the Manager insisted that they will get Garmin to send the unit straight to me. The store phoned me on 19 Jan 2018 and informed me that the unit will be in George on 24 Jan 2018 and I can collect the unit. I told them that I stay 700km from George and what the arrangement was, they said that they will advise Garmin to send the unit to me. I was called by the store on 25 Jan 2018 and was told that the unit is in George and that they will send the unit to me as Garmin made a mistake to send the unit to them. Today 31 Jan 2018 I phoned the store to enquire as I have not yet received the unit only to be told that they are under staffed and have not yet sent the unit! I phoned their customer care line today to report the matter and suddenly I got reaction and they unit should be sent today, lets hope. The customer care lady also said that they should have refunded me as per my request. The manager of this store is useless and have a don't care attitude towards me. Hopefully the regional manager will sort her out. It is now 7 weeks since I could have been given a refund on this product. Can't see that I will buy from them again, and I was a very loyal supporter in fact spend about R 20k at the store when I handed in the unit......
