Worst rugged phone ever!!!!!!
⭐ 1/5 – Absolutely unacceptable after-sales service from Oukitel South Africa / Tsukuru
This has turned into one of the most frustrating repair experiences I have ever had.
I bought an Oukitel WP55S because it is sold as a rugged IP68 phone. It suffered water ingress after a very brief, shallow exposure to water. I maintain that the charging-port cover was properly closed, but Oukitel rejected the warranty claim and blamed me.
Eventually, just to get my phone back and end the argument, I agreed to PAY for the repair.
Before I paid, Oukitel confirmed in writing that the charging-port area and seals would be properly repaired and that the phone would be tested to confirm its water resistance had been restored in line with IP68.
I paid their quotation in full.
Then, AFTER PAYMENT, they told me the rear camera was still broken because the main PCBA had water damage — and that I would have to pay EXTRA to repair it.
Here is the part that really makes me angry:
THEY ALREADY KNEW about the camera fault and PCBA damage BEFORE they issued the quotation.
Yet the quotation did not clearly say the camera would remain broken, that the PCBA was excluded, or that I would later be asked for more money.
They are now arguing over the wording of one sentence in an email to justify this.
I paid the repair quotation they issued after inspecting the phone. I expect a repaired phone back — not a phone with a known broken camera and another bill attached.
This has dragged on for weeks with repeated emails, changing explanations and escalation to management.
For a company selling "rugged" phones, the after-sales service has been anything but rugged.
At this stage I am thoroughly fed up with Oukitel South Africa / Tsukuru. Based on my experience, I would not recommend their after-sales service, and I would not recommend anyone buy one of their phones.
If this is Oukitel's idea of "rugged", then apparently the only thing tougher than their phones is getting a straight answer out of their after-sales department.
