Stay FAR away from Oryx 4x4 rentals in Cape Town. Hendrik, the owner seems like a communicative guy who replies quick on inquiries, but this is a police case now in our case. He ****med a ton of people out of money and you don't want to be one more.

Hendrik literally showed up on the date of our rental not only 4h to late, but only with 1 instead of 2 cars. And his excuse to not tell it to us the day before was that "he did not want to stress us out".

All he did was not giving us a choice to book a proper replacement vehicle. We had to pay a replacement car and never got the money back for this paid second car.

Also the car we got was in a horrible condition, no oil and got midway a broken radiator. The mechanic we had to hire and pay said that nobody should drive with a vehicle this bad into Namibia. We also never got the money back we had to pay for this mechanic.

Renting over his company made this trip a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and book either over a reputable company like Bushlore or just pick a car from Hertz or Avis or any of the big ones. Everything is better than Hendrik and his ****my rental service.
