John Clayford saves the day

I used to buy all my gear from Outdoorphoto, until recently when we had a break-in at our home. All my gear worth about R108 000 was ******. I contacted Outdoor for a quote to replace all the gear and spoke to Bernard Koch who assisted. He sent me a quote and I told him that I was waiting for my claim to pay out, before I would place the order. The next day, the insurance claim was paid out and I was trying to get a hold of Bernard throughout the day. Understandably he was very busy, but I asked if someone else could perhaps assist. I then spoke to Gerald. Gerald said that Bernard would get back to me. While I had Gerald on the line, I asked him if it would at all be possible, if I purchased all the gear from them, to remove the charger from a Canon 5D MK IV box and just credit me, seeing that my charger was not ******, to which he rep**** that they do not buy secondhand accessories, even though on their website they sell them. At this point, I decided to be patient and wait for Bernard’s call/email, my patience grew thin as their was Cash Back deals on specific Canon items which would only be valid for another day. After not hearing from Bernard, I decided to contact ORMS Direct and was helped by John Clayford, the camera sales manager, who seemed very enthusiastic to assist, he also had no problem removing the charger and crediting me. I therefor opted to purchase ALL my gear from them instead. It seems like losing money is not an issue at Outdoorphoto as I am still waiting for Bernard’s call. In 1945 George Orwell published the literary classic, Animal Farm, which was required reading in my English class. I always remembered the line: All animals are created equal, just some animals are more equal than others. Someone recently referenced the book and this famous line, and it made me think about how customers are treated.
