Hotel Shut Down

We drove down from Durban to the hotel for a weekend away booked with Jody (receptionist). When we got to the hotel we found it be on lock down, security at the gate explaining that Selborne Hotel is no longer in business since 31 May 2015 apparently its financial related issues. I couldn't believe it but its the shameful truth. We had written confirmation from them, our booking was on their system but nobody from the hotel bothered to inform us. The phone rings unanswered, my gosh I have never been so inconvenienced in my entire life. To drive more than 100kms for nothing is not a joke. Its such a disgrace on the group. I'm not one to write nasty stories about hotels/guesthouse but this took the cake. To drive from your house and be stranded at 22h00 in a town you not fami**** with is a nightmare. I'm appaulled by this, first time experiencing a hotel shut down
